Like the mythical beast with one prominent feature-its snowy white horn-some single women labeled unicorns are indeed exercising a seemingly singular purpose. Eschewing the current epidemic of monogamy probably leads to safer sex and certainly the Puritan ethos that has always defined female sexuality, women of all ages are searching through a hedonistic approach to their lives in the hope of experiencing all they can.

Like their male counterparts criticized for a multitude of partners in random trysts, unicorns are indeed looking for as much sex and sexual play as they can handle. They scurry across on-line dating sites. They join kink communities, meeting the link-minded there for dating; or more. They scour clubs and other social outings for the express intent of meeting someone to take home or be taken home and they indulge all their sexual interests no matter if they have yet to traipse across a specific fetish or not.

Unicorns are mostly portrayed as heterosexual but really for one to explore as much of the hedonistic lifestyle as possible a person would have to be open to not just as many sexual activities as possible but enjoying those activities with as many people, of as many sexes as possible! Homosexuality, bi encounters, any true polysexual arraignment would not scare off the modern day unicorn, and in fact a unicorn would be attracted to them. As long as what she is doing in some ways uses and sometimes abuses her sexuality, the unicorn is happy.

Of course any sex we have these days needs to be safe sex. Unicorns are probably more adapt then most on the actual mechanizations of condoms and dental damns as they simply have more practice then most people. Courting a healthy libido and a need to indulge it doesn’t truly make a woman perverse, a naughty girl or a slut. The pejorative term used to describe women who pursue more than one lover or enjoy some hedonism in their lives are really labels applied by men who fear a sexually aggressive women or from other women who are jealous. The very fact that there are terms like unicorn out there to describe a certain female sexual behavior indicates that a certain female sexual behavior is still considered slightly afield from the norm.

Sex-experts estimate there are 40 million Americans currently suffering through a sexless marriages. Of course no partners wish this to happen, sex is fun, helps to relieve stress and brings us closer and maintains intimacy better than almost any other activity, but over time sometimes people who have been monogamous significant others to one another simply loose the desire to fuck one another.

Dry spells are normal but a prolonged period of no sexual contact will seep like a cancer between two people. The reasons can for a halting physical intimacy can be multitudinous, as obvious as infidelity, or a woman’s prolonged including menopausal symptoms turning her idle for a good long time, often without a couple sometimes realizing what’s behind their stunted lust.

Sometimes the reasons are not so terrible and a couple can get back on course quickly; if they want to.

Many times the bedroom becomes the boardroom, not just the room of boredom. Too often partners take their PDA’s with them to bed, they have a computer in the room, they throw magazines, newspapers and other parts of their business on the bed or on a side table. Very much like late-night talk shows coming from the T.V. at the foot of the bed, there are certainly other distractions that can divert our attention to what should be going on in bed.

Of course our health affects how we feel in all aspects of our lives and ingesting medications that might affect one’s blood pressure, increase anxiety or even increase acid reflux will slow up our sex drives, as well consistent alcohol use-or abuse-and drug use. Even oral contraceptives can alter a woman’s libido and sometimes not in a positive way.
Self esteem also affects not only how we feel about one another but how we feel about our partner looking at us, getting naked for sex. As we age we so often do gain weight, with childbirth women’s bodies sometimes change and a man often sees the appearance of a beer belly even when he’s not drinking beer.

Sometimes it’s simply our lifestyle that impinges on our romance, as in how fast-and hard-we work, how often we run the kids to and from school and activities, simply how much either person is doing that makes them exhausted.
A little time and attention to the moments when we feel sex slip away might indeed see it not slip away at all, but neither partner can be too scared to confront the lull less they see the beginnings of a sexless marriage.
