Adding someone to Facebook is the new getting their phone number written on a bar napkin. In a world where we’re glued to our cell phones and can’t go a full 60 seconds without changing our status updates, it’s no wonder that the world of dating has turned so digital.
Researchers over at Lab42 noticed the love and social media trend, and dove into an intense dating search to find out who uses social media to flirt, who uses their cell phone to connect, and who is still living in 1990 by dating ‘offline’.
And where else did they find their test subjects? Social Media sites, of course! At the end of October, the infographic experts asked 500 18+ Facebook, Twitter, and various other social media outlet users personal questions about meeting, cheating and love online.
Some of the results aren’t shocking, like the revelation people tend to Facebook stalk their new love interests, but who would have thought that 33% of people have been broken up digitally? Check out the rest of the survey results in one of Lab42′s trademark stat-graphics below:
